Moving without worries thanks to good moving equipment

You've found your dream home and it's time to move. Whether you are leaving your parental home for the first time or moving into a new palace with your partner and family, there is a lot involved in a move. While doing so, you also want everything to arrive safely at the new home. After all, it is your life you are packing in moving boxes. So invest in good, premium moving equipment. That is one less thing to worry about.

Premium moving equipment

Before you move, it is a good idea to find out which moving boxes are most suitable for your belongings. Choosing premium material is always recommended. This is because premium moving boxes are extra sturdy and long-lasting, allowing you to use them several times with ease. Moreover, they are easy to fold and carry thanks to integrated handles. The double-walled cardboard offers more strength to protect your belongings. In addition, this cardboard can withstand pressure better. So stacked boxes do not collapse and it absorbs shocks during transport. So you can transport your books, electronics or glass tableware more easily and safely. By the way, did you know that there are even extra reinforced moving boxes for books that protect your books even more during transport? Ideal if you have a lot of (expensive) books to take with you to your new home. Tip: make a compartment out of cardboard to better transport packed glasses.

Bubble wrap and wrapping paper

Bubble wrap is very useful for valuable or fragile possessions such as figurines, works of art and picture frames. Also use this foil to fill voids or to create a bumper in the box. To do this, place a piece of bubble wrap in the box and make sure the bottom and sides of the box are covered. You can close and tape the remaining bubble wrap over the items after packing them. It is also advisable to use special packing paper. You can buy these from a good moving specialist. A good investment, because your glasses and other fragile items will arrive in the new house without damage. Moreover, you can put a ball of this paper in the empty spaces of moving boxes to prevent shifting.

Use the box well

It may be crazy, but a moving box will last longer if you use it properly. Many boxes contain a limit to the weight they can carry. Take this into account. Or buy extra sturdy moving boxes for heavy products. These can hold more weight. Then do not fill the box beyond the limit. This is often indicated by a (red) line on the inside of the box. By not filling the box to the brim, you can be sure that you don't exceed the weight capacity and that there remains room for your hands in the handles. Moving boxes last longer if you use them properly. And your belongings will stay better protected.

Start packing on time

Unnoticed, you will have a lot more stuff than you might have expected. Therefore, start packing your home on time. Do this room by room. This way, you can check at your leisure whether there are things you do not want to take with you. Would you rather not live among the moving boxes? You can also rent a storage space where you will temporarily place furniture and moving boxes that cannot yet go to the new house. This will probably provide some space in the old house, should you still want or need to fix things up. And it is easy to move everything from the storage unit to the new house in stages, as soon as you can. Can you already move into the new house? Then move room by room as well. This gives a bit more peace and quiet.

Preventing moving stress

Everyone suffers from it when moving house; moving stress. There is quite a lot coming at you and it is okay to embrace that. You are leaving a place full of memories and closing another chapter in your life. There will be emotions involved and that is not a bad thing. Apart from that, you have a lot of things to arrange. Financing, cancelling and connecting energy, address changes, chores and the packing itself take a lot of energy physically and mentally. To avoid the worst stress, it is good to make a checklist. Or pluck a moving checklist from the internet and complete it with items specific to you that you must not forget. Divide the checklist into time blocks. What do you want to have arranged the week before the move, what two weeks before the move et cetera. When do you need to be out of the old house and can you move into the new one? Plan which rooms you will do first and order enough moving materials in time. Often, the most essential furniture (beds, table, chairs) are the last to be left in the old house, while you may have wardrobes, the sofa and other items long ago. Dividing everything into small steps makes it much less stressful.

Label the moving boxes

Whether you move to the new house all at once or in stages, it is always advisable to label the moving boxes properly. While doing so, also label the doors in the new house with A4 paper, so that the moving boxes and furniture go straight to the right rooms. This is nice for a removal company, but also for yourself. After all, you don't have to wonder where all those boxes should go when they are all piled up in the living room. After all, moving doesn't have to be very stressful, as long as you make it orderly for yourself. Prepare well, choose premium moving boxes and moving equipment so that your precious possessions are well protected and have fun doing it. Invest in quality, and enjoy the peace of mind it gives knowing your belongings are in good hands.
