Museums in 's-Hertogenbosch

If you come to 's-Hertogenbosch as a tourist for a day, you can hardly leave without visiting one of our museums. But also as a resident or future resident of 's-Hertogenbosch, you should definitely have seen a number of museums; 's-Hertogenbosch is not called the culture city of the south for nothing.

The North Brabant Museum

Het Noordbrabants, as we call the museum, is surely the best known and most visited museum of 's-Hertogenbosch. Located in the Museum Quarter on the Verwerstraat, the museum is housed in the Bossche Gouvernementspaleis.

The National Carnival Museum

If you ask a local in 's-Hertogenbosch for directions to the National Carnival Museum, they won't understand what you're getting at. National Carnival Museum? Never heard of it. Just ask for the Oeteldonks Gemintemuzejum and they will immediately tell you the way or walk with you to drop you off.

In the Choorstraat, in the shadow of the Sint Jan, you will find the Slager museum. The Slager family includes 8 painters in 3 generations. In the museum, you can see cityscapes of 's-Hertogenbosch, landscapes from Brabant and portraits. The collection offers a picture of the cultural and social life in 's-Hertogenbosch from the second half of the 19th century to the end of the 20th century. The museum is not large and the works hang in cosy rooms. It is an ideal museum to visit if you do not want to spend half a day inside.
