Apply for a subsidy for home insulation

Apply for grant for insulation home

With energy costs rising in recent years, we have been reminded how important it is to properly insulate your home. As a result, making your home more sustainable increasingly pays off. And to encourage this, the government has created a subsidy: the ISDE subsidy.

In this article, we will tell you more about this subsidy, how you can apply for a subsidy to insulate your home and what you can do to improve the insulation of your home

Steps for improving insulation

See what all you can do to improve insulation in your home. Consider, for example:

  • Installing cavity wall insulation, floor insulation, wall insulation or roof insulation

  • Replacing windows with insulating glazing

  • Fitting better-insulating skylights

  • Sealing seams and gaps

  • Hanging insulating curtains

Using these improvements will not only ensure that you reduce your energy consumption, but also improve your home's energy label. And that will also ultimately ensure that your home becomes more valuable and can be sold better in the future.

In some cases, you get partial reimbursement of the costs for insulation measures or a major retrofit. On the central government website, you can read all about the measures and the costs you will be reimbursed for.

The ISDE subsidy

The costs for insulating your home are reimbursed from the ISDE subsidy or the Investment subsidy for sustainable energy and energy saving.

This is a subsidy pot which you can claim if you make your home more sustainable with, for example, a (hybrid) heat pump, solar boiler, electric cooking facility, connection to the heat network or insulating your home. The amount of the subsidy depends on the type and number of sustainability measures you have installed.

Apply for a subsidy for insulation

When you go to apply for the subsidy for insulation measures, you go through a number of steps:

  1. Check the conditions on Rijksoverheid.nl: it explains which conditions apply to the measures you are having carried out

  2. Find the reporting code: the subsidy application asks for a reporting code, for which a reporting code list has been created. If the measure is not on the list, you can enclose the product description and then it will be checked for compliance.

  3. Request/purchase the insulation measures: make sure the (building) installation company puts the reporting code in the quotation and on the invoice.

  4. Start insulating: take a photo of the work when you have insulation installed, clearly showing the house.

  5. Apply for the subsidy: send along all the necessary evidence, such as invoices and photos.

After applying for the subsidy, you will receive an email with a confirmation of receipt and reference number and you will be notified within 8 weeks whether the application has been approved.

So you know how applying for the subsidy to insulate your home works. Enough reason to take a look at the possibilities for better insulation of your (upcoming) home.
